CD Player not reading discs

Some months ago I followed a link on this forum which led me to a site that gave self fixes for common problems with electric items.

One of the fixes that I looked at was an adjustment to fix a CD player that was failing to read discs. At the time I didn't have a problem and didn't add the site to my favourites. More fool me. The CD player in the sound system has now developed this fault and I could do with looking up the fix.

Does anyone know the site I'm talking about and can you point me in the right direction?
