My sister has just bought an ipod nano and wants to find a legal site to download music from that is cheaper than the Apple site. I use Tesco for my MP3 but it says no Ipods. Someone did tell me of a site thats Russian based???? Any help would be appreciated Thanks!

The russian site is legal there, but using it to download from within the UK is illegal, and so can't be discussed on this board. There are lots of previous posts about it.
As for Tesco...why not download the songs, and them put them into iTunes? I assume (haven't actually used Tesco) that they are just an mp3 format, so there should be no problem adding them to iTunes.0 -
I like a bargain and never want to pay 79p if I can get the same thing much cheaper. I didn't know anything about the Russian site, which is why I asked. Someone I worked with told me she used it. I do not always have time to trawl through previous posts(Bingo Bango). All I wanted to know was a cheap legal way to download music.0

Because you can get music from a huge catalogue in very good quality and in whichever format or compression rate that suits you. and no it is not illegal anywhere yet unless you can prove otherwise. Also you can buy a whole CD online from places like CDWOW.com or PLAY.com for much cheaper than downloading an album from iTunes which you can't use on other than your iPod.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -

The Russian site is apparently illegal everywhere, including Russia. I am sure a Google search will get what you want. If the point is to be legal, it isn't - and why pad the pockets of one bunch of thieves when you could just do the downloading yourself and cut out the middleman?
iTunes by the way is 79p/song £7.90 an album which is pretty hard to beat, no?
I'd rather pay a £1 or so extra and actually have the cd in my hand, complete with case, so that I can take it anywhere my iPOD cant go... In theory you shouldnt be able to use the Ipod in the car unless you use the headsets, so at least I can take the CD with me for the car, and have it in my cd collection. This is the area where digital downloads lack, at least with the CD you can have it both in your collection and on your 'pod.£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard

Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0
