hope someone can help (i am not very good with this type of thing, but will have a go)
today when i tried to log into ebay it came up with a warning,
"This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to signin.ebay.co.uk, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
Technical Details
signin.ebay.co.uk uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate will not be valid until 08/01/2009 00:00.
(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)
I Understand the Risks
If you understand what's going on, you
can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification.
Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is
tampering with your connection.
Don't add an exception unless
you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted identification."
I have never had this warning before, it only seems to be happening on the ebay site.
also the time and date on my laptop had changed
i ran spybot and it came up with 54 problems, i have cleared them but there was 7 it couldnt get rid of
i am currently trying to do a malware scan but this is going very slowly (has been going two and a half hours and is probably only half done, it has found 9 infected objects)
my virus scan came up with no problems but there were three files it could not open.
i have been using this laptop for 18 months with no problems until today,
can anyone advise me how to sort this
thanks
paddy

Invalid certificate warnings (when the site is ok) is normally an indication that the date on your PC is wrong. As you have stated that the date/time had changed on your laptop, this is almost certainly the cause of the warning. Suggest you download, install & update MalwareBytes and run a scan.
