DELL laptop automatic rebooting

My Friend just called me to say his dell laptop has started misbehaving. He used it throughout yesterday until the evening when it just suddenly went off.
He switched on again and it goes with a msg "We apologise for inconvenience but windows did not shut down sucessfully blah blah..."
I told him to go through safe mode but as soon he clicks on safe mode with networking it automatically reboots likewise when he picks last known config.
Does any techies have an idea of what the problem might be?

Could be a problem of overheating, ironic in this cold weather. I'd suggest blowing some compressed air into the fan vents with the laptop turned off. Also ensure they don't use it on a muffled surface e.g. a duvet.0

Could it be only that? You can't keep a good man down...0

Not only that but it'd be my number one suspicion. There could be an issue with the CPU heatsink - not easily fixed with laptops.knowledgepower1 wrote: »Could it be only that?0
