if you get rejected,does it show up onyour credit score?

Hi all,

if you get rejected does it get shown on your credit score, have never had a credit card before soi belive this is the reason why and i am only 18., deciding to get one to increase my score for a foture morgage, but i want one with 9 months interest free and plus.

im not really bothered about the limit really, £500 max probably.

Ive already been rejected for sainsburys, anyone recon i should try my bank, hsbc?

    Yeah - I would have tried my bank first to be honest. They will give you preferential treatment. I was 18 when I had my first CC. That was also HSBC :)

    Egg is also quite good - They may give you an Egg Money card https://www.egg.com

    Only credit searches are shown; rejections aren't.
    And yes, it is worth trying first the bank you have your current account with.
