Wet rear seats in Fiat Punto

We have a nine year old Fiat Punto and have noticed with all this rain we are having the back seats are damp. Its mostly nearest the doors. There is no water anywhere else. The seals looks okay on the doors. I have googled it but everyone seems to have water in the footwell but we have no water there just on the seats. No-one has sat back there so it can not be from them. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix it cheaply or just even what could be causing it?

    Its 5 door. No sun roof. Boot is dry. Do you think it could be wheel arch as its only the ends of the back seats?

    check the windows and door seals first
    more likely its a poor seal on a wondow or the like and water is working through
    if you have a hosepipe then get someone to hose the car down as you sit inside and watch for leaks

    It's a nine year old Fiat.

    I could make loads of fun but as you are serious;

    It has a sunroof check but check the drainage channels through the doors, if they are blocked water may gain entry through the door panel

    Check the under floor area for corrosion.

    Any previous accident damage?

    Just a thought, but I had an old Pug 309 years ago, and the back seats were soaking, and the boot was damp. Previous owner had gone nuts round the light clusters with silicone, and we went nuts checking the door and window seals. Turns out that where the bracket that allowed the seat back to rotate at the base had been welded on, had failed, allowing water to come in from the wheelarch. Repair job with some mesh and some titanium putty, sorted.
