Advice on dealing with TV malfunction purchased from Selfridges

Does anyone know anything about Selfridges warranty on Audio & Video equipment?
I've got a month left on my TVs warranty and this is the second time it's broken down in 2 years. Do you think it will be upgraded to a newer model if it's irreparable (an electrician friend of mine thinks this may be the case), a refund of the original receipt value or a refund for its value today?
I know it's a bit cheeky but I'm hoping that I can get a replacement HD TV:p.
Any help and advice on how to approach this matter with Selfridges would be appreciated.
Thanks.
