help with determing the date a photo was taken....
Hi sorry wasnt sure where to post this, I hoping for a bit of help with with some photos in respect of jepgs. My car went into a service last week and has come out with some scratches down one side, the dealership are saying that the driver took some photos of the scratches and will send them over to me but they were on the car when he went back to the dealership. He has sent some photos of someone elses car
and when i phoned him back apologised and said he sent the wrong ones. If i click on properties it opens up and shows a date it was created, would that be the date the picture was taken or when it is transferred to the computer. Is there any bits of software that can help or determine when it was taken.
thanks in advance.

Should be easy enough.
Simplest way would be to copy it to your "My Pictures" directory on your disk and look at that directory with Windows Explorer. Switch to "Detail" view and you should get a "date taken" column.0 -

Upload it to flickr - it can display the detailed JPEG Exif data."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

try a different part of the forum, because its a picture of a car doesn't really make much odds
Of course, you are assuming that the camera had the correct date set0 -
The date on the camera is the biggie most people don't set the date on the camera. Plus I have a free piece of software that can change all these dates very easily.0
