My personal fave is the "make £10 a day" challenges that run each month. The amount of money I make as a result of this challenge makes the difference between making just minimum payments, and making some fairly decent overpayments :D

another vote for PAD - it's the habit of doing it rather than the amount for me at the moment, but we get some great amounts in there as well! :)

Ooo I like the sound of the Money Neutral challeng QB, which board is it on?

    Sx

Hi Sarah, try this link and it will explain the premise of the challenge. It's on the Christmas Moneyaving board (although that title will probably revert back to Sepcial Occasions in the New Year). Hopefully a 2010 challenge will begin in the New Year!

The Sealed Pot Challenge gets my vote, it's supposed to be about saving spare bits of money throughout the year and not touching it, but I had to dip into the funds when situations dictated and it's great as the money is there rather than putting it on a credit card or such. And number 3 is just starting so jump on board :rotfl:

The Crazy 100.00 Clothes Challenge is another that gets my vote, as it makes you stop and think about whether you actually need the item you are cossetting.;)

The 100 day Challenge is great for making you use up all 'that stuff' you've already got.

This year I'm continuing with the above and also going to try to do the Frugal Living 2010 - The Cost of Living Challenge

As said by others already, it's about deciding what suits you best, I think the PAD sounds great but as I live in a country that doesn't do free banking and every transaction is charged for then it's not an option. But I defo give that one the thumbs up too and if I could do it then I would.

    Good luck for 2010. :T

For me the challenge that has made the most difference is PAD. It's the habit of paying something every day, no matter how small the amount.
Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

  • Live on £4000 a year (excluding rent/mortgage and council tax) has really helped me - I've incorporated bits of other challenges to help with it, such as the grocery challenge and sealed pot challenge. Many thanks to Nykmedia for starting the 4k challenge :T
