Gone off apple sauce!

I bought a jar of apple sauce from Morrissons. It had a good date on it and stored in our pantry until I opened it yesterday. We had a nice bit of pork and I said to my daughter try some apple sauce which she did. I asked her if she liked it and she said 'No Its disgusting!' I was rather shocked at her reply so tried it myself. Oh yes it was disgusting. In fact it made me reach as I am pregnant. We then did a smell check. It was rank off to the toilet again!
My husband then examined in the jar and there was a red lump of something in there!
What should I do about making a complaint?
Many thanks

Was it in one of those glass jars with the "popper seal" lids?
How long ago did you purchase the item?0 -

Hi,
I bought it ten days ago. Yes it had a popper lid that was 'not popped.'
The date was good until June 2010.************ Baby born 8th Jan 10************0 -

If you are that bothered, I'd go back and they'll probably just let you swap it for another one.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with anything costing under £5, but I'm apathetic.0
