Most of the time problems such as this are caused by the BRAND of media being incompatible with the player.

It has to be said that the problem is more common with the cheaper brands - so sometimes those sale bargains are not such a bargain after all. :-/

I would suggest trying a different brand.

You say you have used other DVD-RW (minus) without problem, but you also say that these are DVD+RW (plus) media. The difference is pretty critical !!

Are you certain your reader/player will acept DVD+RW media??

A Firmware update might be required.

  • The 106 should support DVD+RW media I believe.

YEah, but it might need a firmware update to recognise that media.

Thanks for the replie, yes the 106 does support dvd+rw ive used one before, and ive heard others who have used it, but also my dvd rom wont find any of the discs either so its not just the 106 thats not finding them, and as they find everything else im not keen on a firmare update 1 - Im not sure how to and 2 - if it aint broke, well it works fine till these discs came along.

Do you know anyone else with a DVD writer?
If so get them to check the DVD's.
