co-op credit limit matching

in Credit cards
Hi,
Just been accepted for the Stroud and Swindon (Co-op run) card. Got credit limit of £1,000 was looking for £6,000 which would pay off my M&S balance (0% due to run out in 4 weeks).
Lady on customer services says they I need to send in payslips and M&S statement and they will consider matching the credit limit.
Has anyone any experience of this actually happening? I need to apply for another 0% card if they're going to say no.
Thanks
Liz

Yes. I did this about 6 months ago and they matched the limit I had elsewhere? Had to send in other credit card statements and payslip. They had said at the time there was no guarantee but they did match it. Took a while to go through the relevant department though.Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0

Thanks for that - fingers crossed then, apparently they're introducing a 2% fee from 1st July so hopefully they'll process before then. How long was a while dealseeker?0

Couple of weeks. Phoned up after a week to chase as it can get tight towards the end of other card promo periods ;-)
