i think that's different as they destroy them if they are returned they arn't re-sold
thank god!!!!
You would hope they destroy them but another forum I frequent says otherwise. People on there have had customer return earrings in a dirty state and QVC always state the same, it's not possible because we don't resell them but I don't believe them.0 -
OP it's a matter of commonsense, holes in skin can mean contact with blood with jewelry wearing and therefore a whole lot of potential infections. Would you trust someone with TCP to protect your girlfriend from HIV from returned earrings?0

Ortak take returns on earrings too, or they used to at least. (said they melt them down and make them again)
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
if you look elsewhere, the law agree's with no refund for "hygiene" reasons.
The distance selling regs allow refunds for online purchases but specifically exempt products that have hygiene factors attached such as piercing jewellery.
despite that as stated you have no rights whatsoever.
next time take the missus with you to make sureBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -

:T
I heard TCP cures HIV!
Could you imagine Tesco accepting returns of used sanitary products if you don't like them? Same concept.0 -
i used to work for a jewellers, we required payment before handing over goods, but we always told customers that they could look at and inspect (not try on) before leaving the shop, if they then deceided not to have them, we would refund. however once they left the store there was no guarantee that they wernt tried on so no refund. they probably should have told you (not by law but out of good customer service) but how would you feel if you wre on the receiving end of some lovely expensive earrings that have been tried on by a proper mankey person (not that i am implying anyone is!)
however if they are faulty then that is completely different. Can you see the mountains through the fog?0 -
The fact of the matter is simple, the OP has no rights (being overly blunt!) - hygiene or otherwise. It is a popular misconception / shopper's myth that you can return goods if you change your mind, or they don't fit, or your better half doesn't like them. No warning is necessary - its the law.0

can anyone help me here please my son went into a local jewellers and bought his partner a bracelet for xmas it cost £110 and it seems very flimsy so he took it back to try to get a refund cause it was very very fine and think it would break easy but the shop wont entertain him told him he can get a credit note but theres nothing else there unless he forks out more money where does he stand from here thanks0
-
that's where he stands tbh - he bought it; he changed his mind - the shop DOES NOT have to give him a refund at all - their offer of a credit note is over and above what's required by law.
He needs to decide whether to keep the bracelet or accept the offer of the credit note - they've got his £110 and intend to keep it.
He can only resort to law if the bracelet is faulty.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
