    What my son did was put a description of the job on the mybuilder website. You put in your post code then the job description and local electricians/plumbers whatever quote you on the board. You can then look up their customer rating on there.

    To find a compatible pump he googled the name of the one he had and found one on ebay - new and about a third less than the big shops.

    Son got 5 quotes, chose one bloke who seemed to ask more questions on the job and he was very pleased with him.

    Thank you. This is extremely helpful as the problem persists, though intermittently (ie we have a shower for a few mins then it cuts out).
