A few problems, think I've pressed something by accident

I have been having a few problems with my laptop over the last couple of days. To cut a long story short ...I keep getting the browser message 'Your browser will not automatically redirect to URL' when I click on a link, I get told to 'click here' and then it redirects me.I also play on pogo and now I can't get the games on, I press to play and page just doesn't do anything. On Friday night I uninstalled Norton and downloaded AVG as Norton expires next week, and to make sure I got rid of it all, I clicked on START then SEARCH and now I have no search facility. All these problems are driving me mad (and I can't check my emails today as Yahoo has gone mad, but thats another problem altogether).Anyone have any ideas how I can solve the above problems. Have I clicked on something by accident and can click it back to resolve it or have I knackered it completely.I am on Windows XP Home and BT Yahoo / IE browser.TIA(Ps, not expecting a reply till after the Italy game, lol)

Did these problems start as soon as you uninstalled Norton?
Do you have any anti-spyware software installed?
Ad-aware, microsoft defender, spybot s&d etc?
If not, try one, and do a scan.

#2 I have Adaware, Spybot and BT Yahoo anti spy that I run regularly ..... #3 I did remove Norton via Add/Remove Progs and in reply to your #4 message, I have tried this but the page just freezes and I get nothing. I don't know how to do a system restore but I find it under System tools and when I click on it I get a white page and thats it. I have just restarted my comp and it's still the same. I tried to read the Help pages but even they won't come up. Its driving me mad now!0
