Wanted: The perfect beer garden

Not that I'm planning to get raging drunk mind you...but this weekend we were in North Wales, and we were looking for a pub to have lunch in. Gorgeous sunny day, and all we wanted was...
1. A pub that served food
2. A beer garden with a climbing frame or similar, picnic tables, and a fence around so that I wouldn't have to spend the whole time running after my three year old.
Could we find one...no. We found them on main roads, unfenced, with nothing to play on....and worst of all, we went in one with a playground outside, only to find it also had a wacky warehouse type thing inside, so the kids were desperate to go in there and we spent an hour of precious british summertime in a corrugated steel hellhole.
Do any of you know of that ideal place...in North Wales or anywhere else (I could take a trip next time the words sunshine and weekend collide).

The Ring O Bells on Wirral serves food and has a big outdoor area, with lots of seats around it so you can watch your children. In the outdoor area it has a big rope gliding swing (not sure what they are called sorry), a castle type climbing area with a slide, swings and a few other playground type things.0
