    thanks for all the replies so far - need a quick piece of advice the store said i need to send it to TomTom and i said i needed it for work but they said the turnaround could take up to 10 working days!

    i asked them to contact tomtom for me which they are now doing as we speak but unless they get a reference from tomtom they won't exchange it for me is that all i can expect or should i complain?

    To be honest 10 days seems fairly reasonable. They are only legally obliged to offer an repair at this stage. Could you get an A-Z for the time being?

    OK fair enough A-Z isn't an option though as i travel around the whole country been to Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester so far this week I'll have to see if I can borrow one or buy a cheap one
