I have been searching the BT website without success, does anyone know the current BT charge for handset rental, please?

Please don't hand them money by renting a telephone instrument. You can buy them In Argos for less than £5.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks, but I haven't rented a handset for so long I cannot remember when I stopped. I'm actually trying to decipher my elderly mother in law's BT bill from 400 miles away as she has complained about the cost. I have been trying to persuade her to change to monthly DD and buy a handset for several years, but she has not been willing to change up to now. I'm just hoping that this bill might change her mind!

    Hi JPSC,
I can help you with the bill. Email your mother in laws account details to btcare@bt.com. Include your forum username and also a link to your thread so that I can identify you.
    Many Thanks

Don;t force her into a DD. Just because you think it OK to give 3rd party's access to plunder your bank account, doesn't mean she'd welcome it.
