Financially your biggest focus should be whether you can afford your mortgage, utilities, debts and food. You won't need anywhere near as much money for entertainment and clothes as you won't go out often. Petrol should go down as it is far healthier (for baby) to take the baby out in a pram/pushchair.
When we had our baby we lost around 25% of our income as I went back part time. Best decision I ever made. Returning to work is also something you should think about - having a baby changes your outlook and you may not want to lose all that time with your baby.Taking baby-steps :beer:0
