Hi everyone.
Ive had a Barclaycard for several years (when it used to be Goldfish).
Ive recently become a student, I had a bill of around £400 which im paying off bit by bit. I was wondering if I can get a slightly more lenient interest rate if I phone them. Either that or a free packet of biscuits?
Anyone know?
Cheers
Shaun

Generally the advice is that it's worth a shot - you have nothing to lose. However, I don’t know how likely you are to get a lower APR or how harsh Barclaycard are when it comes to lowering the APR, but as a long standing customer I’d certainly say it’s worth trying - if you don't ask, a lot of the time you don't get! And if you have a mobile contract that gives you free minutes to 01/02/03 numbers then I'm sure you can find an alternative number on saynoto0870, and so it won't cost you anything at all apart from a few minutes of your time

Let us know how it goes!
Edit: BTW, what type of student are you? If you are full time degree level then mentioning it could possibly get a more favourable decision (although they could get funny about change of circumstances or something, so it may be a risk, I don't know)0 -
Try applying for a NatWest Student credit card. The credit limit is a maximum of £500 though.0
