    Hi
You've not really given us much to go on, what make and model is your mp3 player?
If its a Sony MP3/CD player, the ones made for Europe have a volume limiter on them, but I believe this can be fixed with firmware.

    Hope this helps

Actually the sony ones don't need firmware upgrades, just the correct buttons presses to access the service menu :)

if you have it at your max and you want it louder, get the mp3s on the pc and download audacity open the mp3(project import audio) up and on the left hand side where the mp3 has been loaded there are two bars that you can slide with - at one end and + at the other move it up a little and press the play button and it should sound louder keep moving it untill yuo are happy dont move it too much as it will get distorted and then export as mp3(you will need this aswelland put them back on your mp3 player and they will sound louder
Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time
  • Buy better headphones! I recently treated myself to a pair of sennheiser headphones for about £25. I use them with an Archos av500. I used to need the volume level at about 60, now with the new headphones it's at about 15
