Internet always drops on laptop with Vista

Hi all,
I have two laptops here at home, one with XP, the other with Vista. Our wireless connection is very stable with XP, but drops frequently on the one with Vista. It's hard to have skype calls or video calls, because the connection drops on a regular basis. It's worse when using Skype or messenger. During this time, the connection remains up on the one with XP.
The ISP is Pipex, the wireless router is a cheap WBR-T2.
Any ideas guys?

The laptop came with the wireless card installed and Vista. The laptop with XP has lower RAM than the Vista but it runs well. I am seriously considering changing to Windows 7. I heard it's miles better than Vista.Member 7 of 100 to 10k - £100 to £10k = £1490 -
