Purchased Acer Aspire 5738Z laptop recently - but now Canoscan lide 35 and Epson stylus photo 895 printer won’t work with Vista.
If I upgrade to Windows 7 (£12.87 shipping cost) will this solve the problem?
Re Acer laptop - touchpad v sensitive - keeps zooming large and small - without warning - how can I fix this?
Please can someone help? Thanks in advance

Visit cannons website for Vista compatible drivers.
Not sure on your touchpad, but you could try your settings configuration in windows, there should be something in there that lets you change sensitivity or functionality.0 -
there should be some nasty touch pad software loading on startup - remove it and you're good to go

upgrading to win7 probably won't fix your current woes, but for the price you're offered it's a bargain - so get it!Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
My OH friend got that laptop. Pretty good for the cash.
As other posters say visit canon and epson's websites and see if they have new drivers for the kit. There should be and if there is typically the Vista driver will work in Win7 as long as it's not 64bit, there is a chance it will be. I would still go for it mind you, Win7 works well and it does help with battery life over Vista.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. me too with the LIDE 75, works fine on vista and Win7. Win7 for £12 is an absolute bargain, it'll markedly improve sysstem performance and make you very much 'future proof', 100% recommend getting it.
.....if you later have second thoughts you could always sell it on ebay for about £40 anyways

The Win7 upgrades from the Manufacturers tend to be setup as OEM laptop restore images
, probably would't install on another platform. The wife's Sony upgrade certainly was like that. New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -
Hi, I am not sure what you mean - is it not worth buying this 'free' upgrade?0

I've just bought a new PC with Windows7 and I'm very impressed with it - compared to Vista which just makes me bang my head on the desk with frustration on many occasions (my laptop still runs it). My one gripe with 7 over Vista... they took the sticky notes sidebar gadget away and I had to find a substitute!
It's well worth upgrading and then just spending the time on Google to get the updated drivers for the devices that you need.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
