Boots Glitches have to be my main down fall. I remember coming home with heaps of cosmetic stuff because there was a glitch too good to miss:j

I saw the light and returned everything:A the next day as I am not really into cosmetics, I have two sons and don't buy presents for many females so they were destined for the loft beside my other bargains:confused:

I was again tempted by the recent M&S smellies glitch but my loft is not going to hold much more:eek:

It does not help that my sons are 17 & 15 and most of their toys are up the loft too!

All the lego, play mobil, wrestlers, action man stuff not to mention their collection of beanie babies!

I also have lots of sachets of free face creams, shampoos and comfort and the likes. Heaven help the person who has to clear out my I am gone....not that I intend going anywhere for a long time!:D

Forgot to mention the garage full of grocery bargains and toilet rolls!

Oh and I have started 3 bottom drawers!!! One each for my sons and one for my neice, mostly kitchen items from the recent Sainsbury sale!

I might just have to make a New Years resolution too!

I have saved on things like insurance and never buy without looking for discount codes and going through Quidco or Top cash back!

    What's a bottom drawer?

It's a collection of items that you give to someone leaving home and getting their own place usually. A bit like a 'starter pack'. :D

Oh, that sounds lovely!!! My mum did that for me when I was going to university... and she's been adding to it ever since! It's more of a haulage container than a drawer ha ha!!!!!!!!!

I need to be more in that mindset.

I think part of my bargain buying problem stems from the 'hoarding' aspect of my personality. I grew up in a house where we almost couldn't move because of my Father's tendency to keep things 'just in case'. (I daresay this originated during the war when you really did have to make do and mend and lots of things were saved and utilised in other ways.) It was normal in our house to hang on to stuff or collect even more, and I'm aware I still do this now.

Ah! interesting! I grew up in a home like this as a child in the sixties too. I fully understand the reasons my parents and their generation lived like this, however the nightmare of clearing the family home in 2002 after my mum's death and dad's move to a nursing home had the opposite effect on me.

I absolutely don't buy to hoard, whether it's food or other stuff. It's dead money and there are always offers available!

My life feels much lighter now I am free of the excess of 'stuff' that accumulates around us! I keep out of the shops as much as poss and question whether I need stuff, especially household things. I'm happy to splurge on the perfect outfit for an occasion, take holidays or to spend on my hair, because I live minimally in other ways and don't waste money on what I don't really want!

    MSE saves me money, defo!

Can I join your social circle so you can give me food scrub and moisturiser.??

in all seriousness though I feel MSE has saved me money, I have got my grocery spends almost under control, started to overpay my mortgage and did 80% of christmas shopping for the kids from grabbits thru the year.

This is me too ! my parents didnt have much money, so i grew up with all what i needed but not all i wanted. as i grew older and moved to this country i find myself buying staff that i never have before.. I check hotuk deals everyday and the grab it now board. I just keep getting things because " i never have them and i really want them".-
Even if i just fill in the basket but then decide not to buy it.. i need to do it somehow.
I must stop.. as i have a 2 credits cards to pay and if i am "good" i should finish with them in 4 months.
