Halifax credit card

Hi,

Not sure if in right place and scoured the forums but cant seem to find answer...so here goes, hoping someone can advise.

I have a halifax credit card, after being made redundant in July have struggled and havent been able to pay. Finally facing up to situation and have contacted payplan who are going to help me sort myself out. Looking at my halifax credit card....i have overlimit fees of £12 a pop, and late payment fees of £12 a pop. I also have repayment protection which is adding £12 - £15 a month. This card has now been passed to collection agency. Even though I have seriously defaulted......can i still claim the charges back? Or am i being cheeky?

I also have a littlewoods account with similar situation.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you

  • The £12 charges can be reclaimed back since the OFT report on default charges stated that ultimately only a court can decide what a fair charge is and how much.
I would ask on the Reclaim PPI boards with regards to the PPI on the account.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

I'm probably misunderstanding - if you have paid PPI then got made redundant - isn't this the situation you have paid the insurance for?
  • Hi Patanne,

I lost my full time job.....but within 2 weeks started a part time job. (Raised with the belief that better to do something than nothing) Obviously working meant i couldnt claim......and my claim for housing benefit took months to sort. Been a real nightmare. Getting support from the debtfreewanabee boards on here.....but after looking at all the charges made me think. Thanks
