Tesco Internet Saver

Hi
Ive grown to like this account especially its faster payment utility a great account for doing the money transfer shuffle. However im unsure of the current rate of interest on this account. I no the bonus rate of interest was for 1 year initially but seem to remember this may have been extended. Im getting conflicting tales when I phone up the telephone dept so can somebody please clarify the current rate of interest for a account opened 18 Nov 2008 thanks did anybody get a letter recently with regards to extending the bonus rate or was I just dreaming.

I read another thread where someone mentioned their bonus had been extended 'til Nov 2010

I had the same, I also rang them yesterday, and confirmed the bonus was payable for another year.

I opened on 5th December 2008. I've been offered a further 12 month bonus, but running from January 2010

I opened two accounts, me and OH, simply because I read on here that
there were a lot of points to be had and the fact that it was instant access. I checked recently and believe I must deposit £1000 before the end of Dec or Jan to get the points.Just had a quick look and can't find it. I will deposit more as it is 3% which is better than the Egg account I had where the bonus expired.

It's the Instant Access that's offering Clubcard points, rather than the Internet Saver this time around.

Thanks rangers_fc, very glad of this thread as I too wasn't 100% sure what the situation would be with this and was thinking of phoning -- and didn't know of the extension offers others have mentioned.

Applied very beginning of January, but after all the faffing around getting the accounts up and running in the first place, first deposits from OH and I weren't credited till mid-Feb (which presumably is what constitutes the date they were 'opened' and the present bonus runs from?), so missed out on the higher rates earlier on. I believe we're on 1.50% bonus currently.

We'll hope they're still offering extensions of the bonus come next Jan/Feb... could be very useful with bonuses on other accounts coming to an end about then.

Regarding Tesco Internet Saver - I opened an account 12 Nov 2008 and had some interest paid in March this year:confused:. Now my account's been opened for over a year and I've had no more interest paid. I'm right in thinking that it's yearly interest aren't I?

If you had your interest in March 2009, then the next interest will be paid in March 2010 (unless you close the account, when you will then get paid any accrued interest up to closure date).

Annual -paid in march - but if you close it, it is paid up to date on closure
