Who do you get to fit a gas fire and surround?

Hi,
We need to get our fireplace done. Currently its a big hole with an old wooden surround as the frame and marble back board and floor piece.
Who would I get to take out the old one and install the new fire and surround all in one go? Would it just be a gas man?
Also, does anyone know how much I am likely to pay for this? I will already buy the fire and surround as part of a package.
I am in Surrey.
Thank you so much!

You would have to get an engineer who is qualified obviously but I'm sure you already know that. This used to be Corgi but now it is Gas Safe.
No idea how much the charge would be but ask two or three people for a free quote.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi,
Yep, I know they need to be qualified
So just a normal gas enginerr would fit everything, including the surround?
Thanks for the reply.0 -

I'd consider an electric fire instead..safer, no need for annual servicing or knocking holes in walls for ventilation etc. Gas fires are a bit dated now IMHO ..though we have a living flame one i want to replace it with electric. Electric one's you can have them appear as being lit but no heat output - so good for summer.0
