Lower interest rates... .

I can't get a new 0% credit card so my current plan is to try to lower the interest on my current cards. Currently the interest rate on my HSBC one is 14.9% and Capital One is 15.9%. I owe £2000 on my Capital One and £300 on my HSBC one. I've had a current account with HSBC for over five years, and just wondered whether they're likely to agree to lower my interest rate.
I'm quite nervous. What should I say...? Should I say that I owe £2000 to Capital One, that I'd like to owe it to you instead, but obviously at a lower interest rate than you're currently offering me...? Also, would it be better to go into the branch or phone up...? Thanks... .

If you arent looking for a new card then I would have thought a debt consolidation loan may be the way to get the lowest interest rate. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

It would be hard to get a low interest rate for a loan of just £2,000. Why can't you get a 0% card?0
