Need advice on internet security

I have McAfee internet security with my BT broadband and I've been very happy about it.
However, I'm going to switch internet providers within the next few weeks and some of them don't offer internet security, so, I might need to buy it separately.
I read some very bad reviews about McAfee 2010, but the reviews about Norton 2010 seem to be much more positive.
Which one should I go for and why? (I've got Vista on my computer)

Do you really want to buy antivirus? There are plenty of free Av programs that will do just as good a job if not better, Personaly I use Avira free, which is a very good product, This has been discussed here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/free-anti-virus-software#virus
Hope this helps, Alan.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0 -
I have the full Kaspersky internet suite - its only about £15 for three licences if you have other puters in the house or if you bank with Barclays you can get it free. Much better than Mcafee or Nortons0

Neither.Which one should I go for and why? (I've got Vista on my computer)
I'd recommend either Avira or Avast. The former has better detection rates (only slightly), the latter has email scanning. I personally have Avira. Give this page a read:

Same as above: I'd not choose either and instead go for Avast or Avg or Avira (using Avast myself and it gets better with each updated version).0

+1 for Kaspersky.
I've used it for 3 years now, and it's brilliant.
At the price for 3x computers, you really can't beat it!0 -
Whatever you choose ~ make sure you use the MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL before installing the new one
Id personally recommend AVIRA or AVAST for free, or Kaspersky if you wish to pay (Amazons quite cheap)
regardless of what you get id also recommend MALWAREBYTES as a secondary scanner (free)
Use FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin to make browsing 'bomb proof' (But not idiot proof):idea:0 -
Before I got norton 360 (bought a new pc, and they offered a deal), I used Avast free and it was great, so well worth trying before shelling out money for Norton. Saying that its still a good deal.0
