  • I have given up smoking now for 14 days. The 1st few days were the hardest. Also incase anyone doesn't know, you can get the patches on persciption just go and see your doctor. That is what I am doing and I am finding it a great help with the patches.

Good luck and stick in there

Good luck Bellie. I've been reading Allen Carr's book and have been doing a little journal on here which I'll update shortly.

I'm quitting today too. I've got one left which I really want to smoke so that I can quit. I can't wait to quit.

My thread - A Smoker's Tale - has some links which I've found really helpful.

Good luck again Bellie. If you feel like having a rant PM me. Perhaps we can support each other. We could be virtual quit buddies if you wanted.

I gave up 5 days ago and so far I have had no cravings. I only used to smoke 2 to 3 per day anyway in the evening so I have tried to occupy myself with something else.

  • My wife used the Allen Carr book (I havent read it yet).

Quit straight after finishing and never had another one. About four months now I think. Alrwady paid back for itself many times over.

I read some of it, and didn't feel like smoking for the entire day. The book says not to try and quit until you finish it though (this does make sense when you read it) and I ended up picking up another book and never finishing it. Must stop putting it off and just the damn thing!

    Just a thought.
If you smoke 15 fags a day and drink a modest 20 alcohol units a week (10 pints or 10 glasses of wine)then if you saved the money at 6% you would have 64 grand after 10 years. Just goes to show you.
    Hope it all works out.
