Hi, I've just received my new shiny Epson SX215 printer, it didnt come with a USB cable
Is it meant to?
If not, will any cable do that fits? I have a box of cables somewhere and will have a look in there see I have any.
Thanks for your help

You'll get one for a couple of quid off ebay ..some places charge a lot more for them if you aren't careful though. A nice long one is worth the extra quid ..gives you the chance to put the printer where you like.

They are different..stupid not including one with the printer isn't it ?

Absolutely agree; terrible that they expect you to fork out for a cable - nearly all of the printer manufacturers do this:mad:.Tia_Maria06 wrote: »Thanks Timmers, I looked in my box of tricks and have found one, it reaches round the PC so I'm up and running yipee..

Cables have never been include with printers even from the days of serial and parallel connections, partly because these connections weren't always standard. It has just carried on from that point. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Some printers DO include cables. It is just a cost cutting measure (saves about 10p).
Try Poundland - they have USB cable for, well, £1.00
Also eBuyer - http://www.ebuyer.com/search?limit=50&store=4&cat=24&subcat=178&sort=pricelow&page=1
Very sensible prices, even for the longer cable and extensions.0 -
^Very true; some of the Belkin cables are extortionate! :eek:0

It is on the instistance of retailers I bet. 10p on the manufacture of the printer and keep customers happy or add an extra £15 for a premium, make no difference, usb cable for your printer paid into the retailers pocket.
You see deals for £20-£30 printers in shops with a £15 USB cable beside them...RIP OFFNew PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -
