Use this:
http://www.btwholesale.com/pages/static/Community/Broadband_Community/Coverage/ADSL_Availibility_Checker.html#
That'll tell you what speed you can get.
Have you contacted their technical dept? If not you need to phone them & go thru to the old Tier2/3 (where I used to work) as they can remotley log into the exchange & diagnose your line.
However you need to go thru the Tier 1 troubleshooting first so they can log a fault.0 -
cheers i did try and go through but they cut me off when i was going through it they said as my modem says 8123kb its fine and im getting 8mb that im not lol0

Are you LLU or Sky Connect (BT).
Log on to your router and post your router statistics.
You can use this tool:-

Cheers, first off are you on Sky Connect, this is a rebranded BT product Sky offer when they have not got their kit in the exchange, costs around £17/month.
You are indeed syncing with the exchange at just over 8Mbps, however your noise margin is poor at 5.9 db considering your proximity to the exchange, 33db.
You probably have noise on your line which during the evening could cause the router to drop out and resync at a lower speed.
Are you using an extension socket, as most noise problems are caused by internal wiring issues.
This article is quite good.

It would be worth taking stats from the test socket. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
