I have just opened Picassa and it copied a file of pics, I didn't want them in Picassa and deleted it (thought I was just deleting from picassa but turns out have deleted them off computer,-) is there any way of finding them again. they are not in the bin, and I tried a system restore but my puter wont do that.( reported that problem a while back)

If you are using XP, try looking in my documents, pictures.
I don't understand the comment I didn't want them in Picasa,
Picassa does not delete anything unless you specifically tell it to delete a file off the disk. It simply indexes your picture files.

Do you mean you deleted Picasa? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Get rid of it, it's a useless!!
As for your pics look for a free file recovery progg online, install it and as long as you haven't done to many things to your pc since you deleted the pics, the file recovery tool should find them.0 -

Can you remember the name of any of the pictures? Or what you called the folder they were in?
If so, go to the windows start button (bottom left of your screen),and put the name in the search box. You should then get a list of matches - if you right-click on the file name and select "properties" you should be able to read the location where the pictures are stored.0 -
OP will only have a search box if using Vista or Windows 7.
Do you not have access to the originals anymore?
You could right click on the start button open windows explorer and do a search for all your .jpg files.
Of course this is what Picasa will do.
So as another poster has suggested you may need to use a file recovery programme. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Go to your recycle bin and check whether your photo is there, if it is, right click on it and select restore.
To only allow certain folders to appear in Picasa go into [Tools] then [Folder Manager..], on everything in the Folder List selection set to 'Remove from Picasa' then find you folder you want photos to appear in Picasa and set that to 'Scan Always'. I normally setup a folder on my PC called photos that I import all my photos to.
Also Picasa is an excellent application - loving the face reconision0 -
The photos are not in the recycle bin only the empty folder, any one know a good recovery tool which is quick?0

If/when you do find them have a look at FLICKR. It is
the only place for storing pics which made it easy (for me I mean!) to transfer a photo to a forum. I do hope you find them, they are on your computer somewhere.0
