For the MEN, the old Boddington's factory is now a car park. Pay and Display £3 a day, 24/7.
It's on the corner of Great Ducie Street and New Bridge Street which means it's about 20m away from MEN.
Hiya!! Just wanted to ask - can you park overnight in this car park?
My boyfriend lives in the centre of town, he parks in the NCP but its reduced as he is a resident, I cannot pay £100 a month to park there when I stay at his place, which is about 4 times a week.
I could park the car on the roads, however, it is a relatively old car, people think they can rob old ones and it really worries me that they may try and steal it. I do have a stoplock though but I still panic as if it was stolen finding such a great car at the same price would be impossible!
Thanks

£2 evenings (4pm-midnight) and weekends £2/day at the Booth Street West and Charles Street Multi-Storey Car Parks! Woohoo!
Search for "charles street car park manchester" in Google and see the first link with title "Car parks (The University of Manchester)".0 -

I need to park in Manchester on a Thursday, between 3pm-midnight and need to be near the MEN Arena as my mum has arthritis and can't walk far. (We are going to a show.)
We can't get the train as we need to get back home on the Thursday night, and there are no trains that late.
Any ideas on where to park? The replies here seem to be about free parking that is a fair walk away from the MEN, or about parking in the evening only, whereas we will be arriving earlier.
Even if we end up paying more than a few pounds I don't mind... I just want to go with the cheapest, and I have no idea where that would be!
Any advice appreciated.0 -

If you're parking eariler in the day, park on the old Strangeways Brewery site opposite the arena. Don't let on that you're going to the arena and the day rate is (I believe) about £4. The 'event' rate is £7-£8 if I remember rightly.

I parked in that car park on Friday - when I pulled up the guy said "£6 please" even though the signs on the way in said £3 all day parking, when I pulled a face he said "Are you going to the arena?" and I said "No, we're just going for some food" and he said "Okay, £3 please."
We were actually going to the arena but thanks to the advice on this forum I remembered to say no
The ticket they give you is still valid for the exact same amount of time as the "event parking" that costs £6, so don't be afraid to tell them no!0 -
Hmmm very cheeky!
Will remember that tip, thanks.
I also noticed there's another car park close to the MEN Arena for £1.40 for 12 hours - the Greengate (ECP) one.

Only noticed it this morning (looked it up after seeing the overhead satellite view of the area). It's a 5-min walk from the MEN which my mum should be fine with. So we have a few options.
Thanks guys!0 -

There is a building called the 'Chips Building' just off Great Ancoats Street on Old Mill Street. I used to live there and the car park in front of the building is £1.50 for 12 hours or £2 for 24 hours.
It is about a 15 minute walk into town. Just walk straight down the main road from the building and you're at Piccadilly Rail Station.
If you have SatNav, go to Postcode M4 6DJ. That will take you to the Argos at which you take a left turn and then the building/car park is on your right.
You can't miss the building, it's really brightly coloured!0 -

See my reply to the original poster about the 'Chips Building'.
The tariff is:
12 hours - £1.50
24 hours - £2
5 days - £6
It is just around the corner from Picadilly, too.0
