Ah, I see Martin has updated his blog to say it has been removed - about time Indie, very sloppy! - I quote his additional line:

"(30 Nov – the ‘who is expecting her first child’ line has now kindly been taken out after our request)"

Interesting comments, some of them obviously from people who just don't 'get it' - more fool them. People who think that this websites is only for people who cannot manage money are, quite literally, losers. With the forum and the sheer volume of knowledge here I cannot imagine how much money is saved every day. If you, Martin, benefit from others saving money then so you should, because you have created your own market.

I guess I'm quite an early addition to the club now, finding the site after a year but my life has changed entirely - I didn't think things were worth buying if they weren't full price. My 'money saved' in four and a half years must easily run into five figures.

I bought myself a rather expensive handbag from Selfridges yesterday after the 20% off heads up :D And yes, I can afford it... because of all the other money I've saved and I've actually learned an awful lot about my own trade from the people on the forums and that helps me make money too :D. MSE is a lifestyle choice, not just a way to get out (or in as some people think!) of debt.

I'm a proper evangelist! Perhaps not enough to argue on the Independent forum though :o
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I haven't heard of this case but some people will go to extraordinary lenghts to have their problems sorted. I wouldn't mind having Martin around for half an hour to help us save even more money. Perhaps Martin should have a competition here on MSE, where the winner gets a complete makeover of his or hers finances?
  • Not surprised. I have had newpapers write untrue, made up things about me too. Anyway congrats on not having sleepless nights and hell for 18 years. A lot cheaper not to have kids anyway.!;)

If its in the papers it must be true!:rotfl:

Whens it due? have you thought of a name? Is the Nursery ready?

Are we going to see a new tab you can stick it between 'Mortgages' and 'Family' - you can call it 'Kids n Diapers!'

Anyway if its not true - then why not? - think about all those tax credits you could get, dam! why not ave 2! - then we might see your picture with some greys hairs - likes the rest of us!
Advice is cheap! Hence their is a lot of it about!
