Scuffed alloy wheels???

My husband has scuffed one of my alloy wheels while parking. It is on the very edge and is quite roughed up about an inch long. Does anybody know if this can be repaired or if I will have to have a new alloy? Can you buy just one alloy or do they come in pairs? Sorry if that is a completely girly question but I have no idea. I have only had the car for 4 weeks and it is a BMW 318ES so I presume this is going to be expensive? Anybody any ideas?
Thanks

    Hi Mae

There are various companies which provide an alloy refurbishment service; Halfords being one that springs to mind. They will simply repair the alloy by using various techniques. I have not used Halfords or any other company so can not really comment on service or quality but a search on the web (maybe yell.com) should bring back some local companies. What I do know is that it is much cheaper to refurb the alloy than buy a new one.

Hopefully someone here will be able to recommend a company.

    Thanks Sanj82
I also should have mentioned that my car is on a 2 year contract hire so basically I hand it back but if it is just repaired do you think they would know when it came to the inspection before I hand it back? I mean does anybody know if the quality of the repair is near perfect? I know its a long way off yet but I want to keep on top of it.

I don't think the contract company would bother - they probaly regard it as fair wear and tear - I used to return cars to europcar with the odd scuff and the manager was pleased to see the car in one piece.
