quick bathroom/plumbing question

A friend has just bought a house where the bathroom had been converted for an elderly disabled chap with one of those walk in showers with a gate thing across & a seat - he wants to get rid of this & put a bath back in ...
The rest of the bathroom will need redoing eventually but for now he's hoping he can just rip out the existing plastic "frame" and put a cheap bath in - thus saving up to redo the bathroom properly in 3-5 yrs time.
Keeping the existing shower isn't really an option as it's not got a proper door or anything - you'd have to sit on the seat to shower & you know not everyone wants to do that!
Would it be feasible & how easy would it be to pop a bath back in (it would go where it was before it was converted - and thus use same drainage etc)

the shower is similar to the sort on this website http://www.impey-uk.com - with the 1/2 height doors etc0

I guess it's not a simple question then?
I have no idea about baths/plumbing etc, but any help gratefully received!0 -
Should be ok, no doubt the shower replaced a bath at some stage.
However, was it bodged or done correctly?
