shower installation with cubicle

Options
I am looking to get rid of my bath that has a shower over it at present and install a shower cubicle and new shower (hopefully a power shower). My measurements show that the shower cubicle will JUST fit into the gap where bath was next to sink as I am hoping not to have too much tile damage etc. Does anyone know what sort of cost I can expect to pay please?

I would need removal of bath, completion of existing tiles down to floor level (bathroom fully tiled around whole room at present), installation of shower and shower cubicle. I am in the Dundee area. Really need to keep costs down as much as possible.

Thanks in advance.

A bit like how longs a piece of string, the answer to your question depends on what quality of finish you expect and what quality of fittings you're prepared to buy. What the conditon of the wall and floor are under the existing bath, if the tiles in the rest of the room are actually still available.

How accessible your plumbing is and is it suitable for a pumped shower, if you install a pumped shower is your hot water cylinder able to cope, is the cold water tank large enough?

There is no simple ballpark figure, there are just too many variables.

Get a recommended installer from firends/family to come around to have a look and discuss your requirements, tell them clearly what you want and get a price for it.

You'll get people on here suggesting they've had enitre bathrooms installed for £500, I'm sure they have, how presentable and useable they are could be an entirely different matter.

The cost is completely down to your own expectations and requirements, so ask for what you want and find out how much that is, if it's too expensive work out where the compromises can be struck.

It's the only real way to proceed on this other than people taking pot shot estimates on here.

I've installed bathrooms for a few years but I'm in Surrey, I could give you an idea what it would cost here, but that's simply not relevant to someone at the other end of the country, (and likely give you palpatations if you see London prices!)

    Hi,

Any ideas as to what a reasonable cost would be to replace an existing shower valve with a power shower and to replace the shower cubicle and tray? I need an idea of labour costs only, as I intend to source the fittings myself. Plus a tiler will be coming along later to tile over the existing tiling - is this a good idea or should we really get someone to strip the walls back to plaster first? It's a 1990s built house and we're in London.

    Thanks!
