You need an auto locksmith to extract the broken part of the key and cut you another key blade with the 2 broken bits.
Please please DO NOT have a go at getting it out yourself as you could push it further in the ignition making it a nightmare job.
also while he is there ask him to cut you a spare if you lose all keys to your car your looking at a large bill.0 -

yep, exactly what he said. :T0 -
Probably not a good idea to do it yourself, but I did the same thing once and got the broken key in the ignition out with a magnet! Luckily I had a spare key!! Good luck

Is it still in Tesco car park?
If yes, and you don't have breakdown cover for your vehicle, you can ask tesco Customer services to call RAC, Tesco have their own RAC cover and this covers customers cars which fail in their car park, you won't have to pay a thing.
All assuming of course Tesco has not stopped this policy, but there is only one way to find out and that won't cost you anything either. I can't remember when I found this out, but a year or 2 later I was glad I knew about it because my car had failed (don't remember why) and I was fixed by RAC for free courtesy of Tesco.0 -
Hope I can get some more advice today. Managed to get the broken key blade out of the ignition myself earlier, so now I need a new key. The auto locksmith was unable to come out until Tuesday!
My key is a remote one with 3 buttons, open, close and boot! How would I go about getting a replacement key? Most expensive I guess is through audi. There is a Timpsons, in a nearby town, or do I go back to the auto lock smith. I did look at the ones for sale on Ebay and wonder what your views are on these!
I really do need the cheapest option, otherwise any overtime I earnt this week making 750 mince pies will go towards the cost of a new key.
Very much a case of 1 step forward...2 steps back:(Less is more0
