Order cancelled, but still being delivered

Options
About 6 weeks ago I placed an order with a large online store for some bedroom furniture. Due to reports that the quality is not up to scratch, I decided to cancel. The money has been fully refunded.

However, I received a voicemail last week saying that they are due to deliver next week. Obviously my morals are telling me to contact the retailer and tell about their mistake. If they do deliver can they take the money again... or should I just take it as blessing in disguise?!?

The decent thing is to contact and get them to cancel the order. They have refunded your money so would be nice to stop them spending any more sending it out to you.

Ditto - would be dishonest to do anything else.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Chances are one part of the company doesn't have a clue what the other is doing, but they'd soon suss if you'd been given a refund on an item that was delivered
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Agree with all of the above.

Going OT, Lip_Stick, have you won anything else yet? ;)
    Gone ... or have I?
  • I do agree... and I will phone them on Monday.. However, the frustrating things is, I have lost count of the times that I have tried to get a good customer in the past, and have been badly let down... and now I have to take time to sort out another mistake - and no fault of my own!

A blessing in disguise as what exactly? Theft? You could accept the goods and be a thief. Or you could call them and advise of their mistake.

Theft? They are delivering goods to my house which were cancelled. Thats not theft - it's just more poor service from a big retailer. The only consequence is that when / and if they realise, they come and collect them again.

But don't worry... I will be ringing them on monday

It would actually be theft if you kept them knowing they're not yours, I'm glad you're doing the right thing.

    Theft.... morally or legally?

I better to tell them, rather than have goods at door, then having to store them and then getting contacting on how to send it back or pay up

You could always just refuse delivery, saves you storing them and getting them recollected.
