Travel Insurance for 6 month single trip

Hi
A friend of the family has a 17 year old son that is off to a Tennis Academy in Spain for 6 months.
I have been searching for the cheapest travel insurance for him. However most Annual Multi-trip insurances seem to stipulate that there is a maximum stay of 45 days.
I have no experience on what most long term travellers normally do.
Can anyone give me advise on this and who possibly might be the cheapest?

Try Insure and Go who specialize in backpacker/long stay travel insurance.Good service and can be booked on line.Covers the usual medical expenses and emergency medical repatriation and should cost no more than £75.00.

Thanks
I had already been there as I have used insureandgo myself for the last 2 years.
The reason I originally asked the Question was because I was disappointed that an Annual Multi Trip Insurance was relatively cheap compared to a single long stay trip.
Thanks anyway

Hi Tim,
I am currently looking for 6 month insurance to travel around the USA and the cheapest I could find was on Statravel.co.uk until I tried Insureandgo (thanks for the tip) who seem more reasonable.
I'm afraid I am a little older than your average backpacker and I came to this site hoping that somebody can offer some advice, hopefully some experienced travellers will be able to help us both out.
Good Luck with your search and if you find anywhere cheaper please post on here.
Thanks,
DonnaIf you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' someone else's dog around!0 -
Thanks for all the advice.
I also found one from
http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/web/policies/travel/backpacker/index.html
I though they would be expensive but for students they are very reasonable

Also looking for son who is off to India for just over 4 months. Uusually booked through Sta, the quote online is £145, endsleigh seems to be £5 more expensvie. I think, Sta uses that company. If anybody can find anything cheaper, please let me know, I am interested in a standard package, between basic and premium ones. Thanks0 -
