Just a minor point but a lighting circuit is generally not a radial circuit, it would normally be a loop-in circuit, similar to a ring but with the last light fitting not have a cable going back to the fuse box.

I stand corrected!
My understanding of a radial circuit WAS what I found in house wired in 1947. The cable to each light fitting was taken from a single junction box measuring around 12" in diameter, like radials from a hub. I have always known lighting circuits as "loop-in" circuits.0
