Avoiding More Fees - £1 per day

Hi,

I am new here so sorry if its in the wrong place or something.

But I am currently over my overdraft and these charges of £5 quid a day is coming in soon, but I do not have the money to repay this. I tried opening an account with RBOS, which has an interest free overdraft, then use that to avoid these charges. Is that the right way to go about it?

What else can I do? I have already been charged £640 in overdraft charges.

Any help would be great thanks.

(I am a student too if that helps)

I am with Bank of Scotland by the way

    So helpful!

I would suggest opening a basic bank account, without an overdraft facility, and then have your income paid into there.

Then contact your existing bank and offer them a monthly repayment amount you can afford. Head over to the DFW board for some help on the letters you need to send. And for any other debt busting advice.

I think that doing a little bit of bar work, or shelf stacking one or two nights a week to bring in some cash is not that outrageous a suggestion. Would clear up the problem in a week or two. Why is that so unhelpful?

Don't think you need to. It's written the way it was meant to be taken. If in doubt check other posts.

euronorris advice is spot and the one I'd go with the OP. Hope it works out.

Do you know this persons circumstances? No you don't, there are many reasons why 'get a job' might not be option for the poster, and of course they may already have a job. Don't try to imply that all people with money problems don't have a job.

Why don't you think about things before you hit that enter button next time eh?
