My copper hot water cylinder has started to leak ( Great !!!).
I will have to replace it with a new foamed cylinder.
How do you re fit the thermostat onto a foamed cylinder ???
Am I corect in presuming that I just cut away a bit of the foam the strap the thermostat on as you would on a copper tank.
Thanks in advance

If it is an old thermostat, it might be wise to fit a new one - it should cost no more than £5. It would be a lot more trouble to do it at a later stage.0

How do you fit a thermostat on a unvented direct cylinder?
My temp is too high and there doesn't appear to be a thermostat0 -
Should be a boiler control (I think!) I don't have one.0

What make is the cylinder, Most can be set to different temperatures but should be set to atleast 65c
I would advise you get a someone with a unvented ticket rather than doing it diy...These cylinders can cause serious damage if installed incorrectly or tampered withHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It's an Ariston. That's the second part of the problem, I have recently moved in and heard that you should get them serviced every year. I have called someone who services them- he didn't show up. And m reluctant to just find someone from the yellow pages- after getting stung.
Would really like someone who has been recommended but can't find anyone.0 -

There isn't a boiler attached. The thermostats(s) will be under the heater cover(s). If I recall correctly, the Ariston has a replaceable sacrificial anode which should be inspected or replaced regularly.
I think you're right , as there is two heating elements and then one other thing which has a green light to show its ok and then a lightning bolt (which i assume is for something is wrong) luckily this isn't on.
Where would the heater cover be?0
