Help please ive dropped my phone down the loo and need some advice please.
It was only in the loo for about 10 secs and it still works but it does not see the Sim card and when i plug it into the Phone Charger it charges it for a few secs then it dont charge any more.
Its a HTC Touch 3G will it work again if i dry it out?

leave it to dry out that it may take a few days but it may work still or apply on your mobile insurance

It won't if you keep using it before it's dry. The electrolytic action of the impurities in tapwater will cause irreversible damage.
Remove the battery immediately and, if you need to wash it, use distilled water.
Then put it somewhere warm to dry completely before turning it on again.0 -
Make sure the battery, memory card and sim card are out and let it dry slowly over the next few days. Don't power it up anymore until it has had a day or too, you may cause more damage.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0

follow above advice, sometimes your better off wetting it a second time than leaving it, after all water does dry out
in order to speed up drying get a plastic container or something, put lots of rice into the bowl, basmati is my preferred rice (more surface area?) and put the phone in it in as many parts as possible - i.e phone and battery separate and without rear casing on. leave it for a week solid in a dry warm place, water heater cupboard? (ive even tried a clothes dryer, worked a treat, broke the screen though despite what i thought was adequate protection.
after the rice it should be working, if not continue with a NEW batch of rice until it works, after 3 weeks of treatment and still o work its a goner.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I can agree with the putting it in a bowl of rice...ive done this with a phone before and the rice absorbs the moisture and the phone worked fine afterwards...took a good couple of days in a warm spot..'Normal' is a dryer setting.0

......and when the rice is cooked in your warm place, add a jar of curry sauce and hey presto an instant tea!!0

You might need to FLUSH the memory before it works, otherwise you will find it could just be full of cr*p. :rotfl:0

I managed to do this 2 weeks ago, It was only in there for 10 seconds as well at which point I grabbed it out and promptly swilled off any urine. I then disconnected all the bits and used a hoover to suck out any moisture, I really couldn't believe it still worked after that but its fine!0
