End of term gifts for Teachers

I have taught for many a year and would never expect a gift and nor would I want the school to issue such a silly edict about sharing the pressies. Whatever each parent wants to do is usually appropriate. It is the thought that counts and all gifts are usually appreciated.
I have no probem giving teacher gifts to those who work with my children and base them on my own personal preferences for flowers, nice biccies or sometimes wine or good quality coffee.0 -
I can't believe this - someone should send a copy to the Chairman of the School governors and the SEELB.
In my kid's school there does seem to be competition amongst the parents sometimes to buy bigger presents but I get the impression the teachers are slightly embarrassed by anything too big.
I give either HM biscuits (the children help) or HM marmelade or chutney as we have 2 teachers, 2 classroom assistants, a swimming teacher and a music teacher to get for and at even £3 each that would be nearly £20. Also I hope they appreciate the thought“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
