Dog doesn't like new bed! What to do?!

Options
A couple of weeks ago I bought my doberman a new cushion for her basket as her old one was manky. For some reason she seems to be scared of the cushion! And has taken to sleeping on the shoe wiping mat as it's the only other space that isn't hardwood floor. (After spending a couple of hours whining to let me know she's not happy!)
I've tried putting treats in the basket so she has to climb in to get them, to try to make her see her cushion is a good thing.
I've also tried sitting with the cushion in the front room (she usually likes to sit up next to me) to try to get mine & hers smells on it. But she won't come near me!

Any other suggestions ????

It might smell a little odd to her - maybe put it through the washer a few times?
Or put the old cushion on top of it for a while?

I'd also assume it's the smell of it. As it doesn't smell of her she's struggling to associate with it. Hopefully you've still got the old one so put that one on top of the new one or rip the cover off to put it around the new cushion for a while.

bit strange i know but this happened to us last time we changed max's bed so we slept with it in our bed for a coupl eof nights first so it had the familys scent on it first, it was rather a large bean bag bed so we put it under the covers at the bottom of our bed, (kept our feet wrm lol)

She is probably scared of it because it's new, also the smell is different. My dog was the same,we got rid of his old bed,put it out for recycling(in the porch for a while)and got him a new one,he didnt like it,so we gave it to someone else, maybe try and put it by somewhere she loves going, she might go near it then, also try putting it on the sofa or anyother place in the house.Hope this helps:)

Throw smelly toys on it. That normally works with our retriever. Although he falls out of love with his bed and moves around to different spots in the house (he's been hanging with cats for too long)

You could try putting an item of your clothing on top to cover it for a bit or a blanket with yours or his scent on.

The old one was thrown straight out, it was discusting!!
I think I cracked it last night, she was sleeping on the sofa & I gently placed it on her (she loves snuggling underthings. By the time it was bedtime I think it had enough of her scent to reassure her & I found her lying on it this morning.

Thanks for all the tips people :D
