have an aging triton powerflo shower, that still has water coming out of spout even when the water heat/flow control knob is fully turned off, and power also disconnected..
have found out that this has in turn caused my combi boiler to to turning over all the time, so heaven knows what next gas/leccy bills will be like.
i can't see a way of getting the cover off, to see if just a washer or bearing / ?? needs replacing to stop the leak..
or is there a cheap way to have it removec completely, and get water pipes capped off, until i could afford a new one..?

Turn off the mains water stop !!!! first then turn on the shower to drain down any water in the pipe and then fit one of these to the supply pipe to the shower http://www.screwfix.com/prods/52623/Plumbing/Brassware/Isolating-Valve-15mm-Pack-of-20

an electric shower has no effect on your combi boiler.
it prob needs a service kit, to replace the seals. (if you can find one).
if the shower is old then maybe consider a replacement instead? they are not expensive.
just as easy to change the whole unit rather than service the old one. esp in labour costs.Get some gorm.0
