Premier Inn admits to overcharging

I did think it was odd at the time that in order to get the £29 rates you have to click on a special link on the front page, to go through the booking system and get the special rates. Whereas if you go through the main system (which looks identical) you don't get offered them.

I think the problem here is not an attempt to deceive, it's simply that the Premier Inn booking system cannot cope with you choosing a different rate i.e. sale / flexible, because you might not want to book a non-cancellable rate.

So they basically have to have two systems running, one which offers you the saver rates and one which does not.

In general Premier Inn's booking system is poor by industry standards anyway, I hate to say it but, travelodge's system is much better.
  • Watch out for the Premier Breakfast that seems to get added by default on the new website!! 3 nights last week and I ended up be overcharged !!

I wonder if this is the reason for the change to the website? Crafty way of driving you sales and profits!

I unsubscribed from Travelodge for that.

If they can't be competitive without these kinds of tactics , then I don't want to know.
