OK so here is the thing, a debt company "Debtors Legal" on behalf of "Capital one" keep calling my work phone asking for someone else, now after telling them on numerous occassions that he doesnt work there they still call 5 - 6 times a day.
is there anything i can do about these guys.
one thing that also worried me was the fact that on one occassion they phoned and declared themselves as "debtors legal" working on behalf of "capital one" trying to reclaim a debt owed to them. now this worried me as i know they are not allowed to cause embarressement to a debtor which is why they have to send all debt letters in blank envelopes marked confidential.
but anyway this is by and by i just want the calls to stop cause my work is very technical and once i lose concentration it can be very hard to get back into the groove so to speak and these calls are now offically a bother!!!

Next time they phone, ask them for their details, then send them a recorded delivery letter stating that <name of person> does not work at <company name>, and has never worked at<company name>, so you would appreciate it if they would stop phoning you asking for information. If they do choose to call again, all time spent on the phone to them will be charged at your business rate of £60/hour.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Invoice them anyway. Quite a few people have done this in a similar position to you and they have paid out. It also stopped the calls.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

Try to initiate phone sex with them. Sure to stop them calling. Unless you are female and they are male.0

If they are ringing and asking for someone else, what makes you think they really want to speak to you. The person who they are asking for may have given them that number and it may have absollutely nothing to do with you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Why don't you ask your employers to take action re: the phone calls? You're unfortunately at the end of the wrong phone no. but due to no fault of your own - I'd chill out and simply get your employers to deal with it.0

Have a read of this from the OFT

Try posting on one of the Loans threads, there is a letter you can send them which quote the relevant Harrassment Law which will get them to stop (They have a template)0 -

Notify the phone company, they should be able to do something about it0
